Fingerless Mitts Crochet Pattern



FINGERLESS MITTS 
I designed these fingerless mitts at the request of the members of "Crochet One, Knit Too", a stitching group from First Baptist Church Clovis, New Mexico where I am a member.

SUPPLIES:  size G crochet hook, worsted weight yarn (approx. 2 ounces), yarn needles, and 2 stitch markers.

ch = chain
sc = single crochet
slst = slip stitch
sk = skip
sts = stitches

WRISTBAND
Row 1:  Ch  9, sk  1st chain.  Sc in next 8 ch .
Rows 2-26: Ch  1, turn.  Working on the back loop only, sc  in each chain across.

MITT
Row 1: Ch 1, working down the side of the wrist band, sc in the end of each row (26 sts).
Row 2:  Ch 1, 2 sc in 1st st.  (ch 1 , sk next st, sc in next st) across.  2 sc in last st.  (28 sts)
Row 3:  Ch 1, turn.  Sc in 1st 2 sts, (ch 1, sk 1, sc in next sp) across.  Sc in last st. (28 sts).
Row 4:  Ch 1, turn.  2 sc in 1st st, sc in next sp, (ch 1, sk 1, sc in next sp) across.  2 sc in last st. (30 sts).
Row 5: Ch 1, turn.  Sc in 1st st.  (ch 1, sk 1, sc in next sp) across.  Sc in last 2 sts (30 sts).
Row 6:  Ch 1, turn.  2 sc in 1st st.  (ch 1, sk 1, sc in next sp) across.  2 sc in last st.  (32 sts).
Row 7:  Ch 1, turn.  Sc in 1st 2 sts.  (ch 1, sk 1, sc in next sp) across.  Sc in last st.  (32 sts).  Place marker at end of row. 

Work 8 rows evenly.  Place marker.  Work 7 more rows evenly.  Slst across next row.  Finish off, leaving length for sewing.

Finishing:  Fold in half w/ right sides together.  Sew down sides to marker.  Tie off, hiding ends securely.  Reattach yarn at next marker and sew down side to end of cuff.  Tie off, hiding ends securely. 


Extra Easy FINGERLESS MITTS

Repeat instructions for wristband.

MITT
Row 1: Ch 1, working down the side of the wrist band, sc in the end of each row (26 sts).
Row 2:  Ch 1, 2 sc in 1st st.  Sc across.  2 sc in last st.  (28 sts)
Row 3:  Ch 1, turn.  Sc in each st across.  (28 sts).
Row 4:  Ch 1, turn.  2 sc in 1st st.  Sc across.  2 sc in last st. (30 sts).
Row 5: Ch 1, turn.  Sc in each st across.  (30 sts).
Row 6:  Ch 1, turn.  2 sc in 1st st.  Sc across.  2 sc in last st.  (32 sts).
Row 7:  Ch 1, turn.  Sc  across (32 sts).  Place marker at end of row. 

Work 8 rows evenly.  Place marker.  Work 7 more rows evenly.  Slst across next row.  Finish off, leaving length for sewing.  Finish off same as above.
